Lived Experience

In early 2026, the LEAD Network convened a Lived Experience Panel of people living with mild cognitive impairment, family caregivers, and professional caregivers of people living with dementia. Panelists discussed priorities and strategies for measuring lucidity in dementia, helping to inform future research in this area.

In this video, Sharon Lukert reflects on her experience participating in the Lived Experience Panel. She also shares a poem she wrote after witnessing a lucid moment with her mother, offering a glimpse into the emotional impact that lucidity can have on family caregivers of people living with dementia.

In this video, Bill Glover shares his experience participating in the Lived Experience Panel as a professional caregiver. He provides an overview of the panel’s goals and reflects on key themes from the discussion, offering insights and recommendations for researchers interested in advancing the study of lucidity in dementia.
